Fans continuously push air into the structure to maintain its shape.
Sand ballast is used around it's perimeter for anchorage.
3 - 4 airlocks act as entry and exits with LED strip lighting inside.
Emergency breakout doors are also fitted inside the airlocks.
It takes approximately 8 hours to install and inflate. Weather permitting.
How it comes to life?
The skin of the StratoSphere is frosty white in colour. The 18.5m StratoSphere has over 55m of screen surface.
The material is semi translucent which means that the video imagery projected can be seen on the inside and outside at the same time.
4 - 5 projectors are placed precisely around the perimeter, covering the entire dome surface.
Then we stitch all the video projectors together using our special dome servers.

The inner dome. A blackout dome which allows the StratoSphere to be used as a venue with internal video projection during the day.
A flexible fixing system allows the inner dome to be installed and removed whenever necessary.
Typical usage involves inflating the inner dome for morning and afternoon presentations and removing just before sunset for projection on to the outer skin.
Install time is approximately 1.5 hours and takes 45 minutes to remove.
When the inner dome is being used our video servers are aligned for both the inner skin and the outer skin. Easily switchable in real time.
Only 4 projectors are needed to achieve full dome coverage with the inner dome installed. Normally 5 projectors are used on the main StratoSphere skin for full dome coverage.

Other important things to know
Can be installed on just about any surface. On unsuitable surfaces the StratoSphere requires a floor to be installed like decking or trackway.
Capable of withstanding most weather conditions. Sun, rain, snow, and moderate winds.
All the stratosphere designs have been stress tested to with stand 100km/h winds.
